New IMSA Flagging & Communications On-Line Course
Recently, the SCCA soft launched a new module for licensed F&C marshals called “IMSA Flagging & Communications Differences.” This course is the result of a joint effort between IMSA and the SCCA, whose marshals are often found trackside at many of their events across the country. The course provides an overview of the differences between SCCA and IMSA flagging and communications protocols, and supplements the SCCA standards with recommendations and common practices that will aid any SCCA corner marshal when working IMSA events.
To access this course, a member must have already completed the “Flagging & Communication Training for New Corner Marshals” inside the SCCA Academy. It also won’t show up on the available courses until you’ve completed the SCCA training either. The IMSA course is not currently required for participation at IMSA events, but it is highly encouraged. Once you have completed the course, you will see a new license designation on your membership card: “IMSA F&C”
If you have any questions about accessing the course, please reach out to , also copied on this email. Note that the SCCA offices will be closed December 24-January 1, and any questions you may have during that time will be answered once everyone is back on January 2.
