Learn about Flagtronics
Let’s start with what Flagtronics is not; These systems won’t replace Corner Marshals at road racing circuits. “Boots on the Ground” will always be required to provide valuable and timely information to Drivers and Race Control, nor will these systems diminish the function of Corner Marshals.
So, what is the goal of in-car flag systems and what do these systems hope to achieve? To improve communication with drivers and race officials of changing conditions on course and most importantly, increase safety to our drivers and workers.
We are not going to discuss the “Pros” and “Cons” of these systems here. That’s what bench racing is for!
Ultimately, it takes a significant commitment and investment by track owners to implement the best features of these systems. This will take time, but in the meantime, educate yourself to these systems.
