On the Green Stuff – Want to Get Involved?

What is this “Green Stuff”? More than a few members are confused by the term “green stuff.”  The easy explanation is the racetrack is black – the grass is green. Most of what the Competition Road Racing Committees, Specialty administrators, and race volunteers do is “on the green stuff”. OK, under full disclosure, generally in buildings, sometimes gravel, often paved, but NOT on the racetrack.  Hopefully, you get the idea.

If you need a better, fuller, more accurate explanation, one is available. The CenDiv Drivers School / Double Divisional event will be held April 8 to 10 at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. On Saturday, April 9, the Chicago Region will conduct a whirlwind tour of “the green stuff” with emphasis on brief explanations of each area necessary to stage a race event. We will provide answers to your questions, introductions to volunteers and drivers and plenty of time to watch real racing, as they say, UPCLOSE & PERSONAL.

To be included please contact the Chicago Region Office at: or call 847-729-2211.
